Dr. Igazeuma Okoroba

Sustainability and Responsible Extractives Thought Leader

Dr. Igazeuma Okoroba is a sustainability leader and strategic voice in the extractive sector, recognized for her work at the intersection of ESG, responsible resource governance and sustainable development. Through her professional leadership and thought leadership engagements, she has contributed to advancing conversations on how extractive industries can move beyond compliance toward measurable social, environmental and governance outcomes.

As a speaker in the Africa Responsible Minerals & Gender Index (ARMGI) side event at the Twelfth Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development (ARFSD-12), Dr. Okoroba contributed an important sustainability lens to the emerging framework, particularly around environmental integrity, accountability tools and inclusive outcomes for women and mining host communities. Her intervention reinforced the value of ARMGI as a practical African-led accountability framework capable of complementing broader ESG and responsible minerals systems.

Dr. Okoroba has also been supportive of Women in Mining Africa (WiM-Africa) and its work to elevate women’s leadership and systems change in extractives. Her support to the ARMGI dialogue reflected shared commitment to strengthening sustainability practice, responsible minerals governance and collaborative pathways for measurable impact.
